Information Sought in Convenience Store Robbery

On Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at 3:18 am, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an armed robbery. The incident occurred at the 7-11, 16450 South Tamiami Trail, Fort Myers, Florida. Deputies responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, deputies learned a masked, white, male entered the business armed with a handgun and demanded cash. A clerk opened the cash register and surrendered the money. The suspect took the cash and exited through the front door. He is described as 5’9″ tall, weighing approximately 165 pounds with brown hair. He was believed to be in his early to mid 30’s and was wearing blue jeans, a grey shirt and black jacket.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Due to the nature of the crime, detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit have been assigned to investigate.
