Lee County boat ramp open through Labor Day weekend
The public boat ramp in Bokeelia on the north tip of Pine Island will remain open through Labor Day weekend and then close for repairs Sept. 6.
Lee County Parks & Recreation will add cement slabs to the end of the two-lane ramp to make it easier for boaters to launch during low tide. The ramp called Lavender’s Landing and located at 7290 Barrancas Ave. N.W. is scheduled to reopen Oct. 1, if not before.
The site, which is managed by Tropic Star of Pine Island Inc., gives boaters direct access from a public ramp to Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound via Jug Creek. Parking is $10 daily; ramp hours are 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. For more information, call (239) 283-0015.
