A way to say thanks

2 min read

National statistics show that more and more people travel for the holidays – which may mean more accidents.

Blood supplies are needed to offset any potential demand.

On Thursday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 6. p.m., Direct Auto Insurance, along with the Florida’s Blood Center Big Red Bus representatives, will hold a Blood Drive and Customer Appreciation Day in Weavers Corner Plaza.

“We’re working with the Red Bus because this is the time of giving,” said Direct Auto Blood Manager Pat Belknap. “This is the time of year with all the traffic accidents needing blood to be given.”

Other businesses will help boost the cause. Englund’s Deli – right next door – will offer sandwich specials, and Weavers Corner Laundromat will offer discounts on dry cleaning and wash, dry and fold.

There will be T-shirt and other giveaways, drinks and snacks at the insurance office.

There also will be a free movie theater ticket for those who donate blood. (Donors must have a photo ID.)

“We will also have a raffle for a $25 gift certificate for anyone who gets a quote,” said Belknap.

“We recently celebrated our first anniversary as Direct Auto; we were formerly Florida No Fault,” she said. “We appreciate our customers at this business.”

The business is at 1884 N. Tamiami Trail. in the Weavers Corner Plaza, close to the Post Office. For information, call 997-6373.
