Bayshore Elementary School organizers are inviting the public to their 20th annual Hoedown, a great family friendly event.

“It’s a great time for all of our families,” said Assistant Principal Ben Ausman. “They just enjoy the evening together, with all the fun things we have.”

That includes all kinds of great food, different festival events and the highly-acclaimed Bayshore Cloggers, who will perform.

That award-winning group has performed for Prince Albert II of Monaco, and received numerous accolades of late – including first place in the Edison Festival of Lights Parade last year.

“We have inflatables, bounce houses and slides, an obstacle course, laser tag for kids and a rock wall; lots of fun family games,” said parent organizer Corrie Schneider. “We also have a silent auction this year and a live auction. We’ll have live entertainment, lots of food and fun for families.”

The event will be held Friday, Nov. 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Bayshore Cloggers will kick it off at 5:30 p.m., with gates open for everything else at 6 p.m.

Christy Payne, who works with the Cloggers group, and in the Clinic office at Bayshore Elementary School, said” The kids were thrilled beyond belief with meeting with Prince Albert.

“He was more than gracious.”

She is the director of the group, with Schneider as assistant director.

“Our year is just beginning,” said Payne. “We have 32 cloggers this year ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. It is the biggest team yet. They have already performed for Fort Myers Beach, FleaMasters and Hunsader Farms Pumpkin Festival in Bradenton.”
