This project, jointly funded by Lee County Department of Transportation and the City of Bonita Springs, completes the six-laning of Bonita Beach Road from Old 41 to I-75 and adds a bike lane and sidewalk in each direction. Bicycle and pedestrian access will shift from the south side of Bonita Beach Road to the north side this week and will remain on the north side over the next several months. Crews will be paving during the overnight/nighttime hours on Sunday, Dec. 4 through Wednesday, Dec. 7 in preparation for this week’s traffic shift to the north. Crews will also be paving at Arroyal Road for the turn lane improvements. This work may require partial turn lane closures (daytime and nighttime) and lane closures (nighttime) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., WEATHER PERMITTING.

During the nighttime/overnight hours on Tuesday, December 6 crews will shift westbound Bonita Beach Road lanes to the north and during the nighttime/overnight hours on Wednesday, December 7, shift the eastbound Bonita Beach Road lanes to the north.
