Update to suspect description – Grocery Store Robbery
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in apprehending a suspect wanted for a robbery that occurred at the parking lot of the Sweetbay supermarket at 61 Bell Boulevard N in Lehigh Acres on December 16, 2011.
Deputy’s responded to the scene and met with the victim who stated she was approached by a male suspect who grabbed her purse off her right arm. He used such force the strap snapped off. The suspect was last seen running on foot heading southeast toward Bell Blvd.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 210 lbs, wearing a solid black shirt and purple pants.
Due to the nature of the crime, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Unit assumed the investigation.
