‘A Family Jukebox’ to perform at Tara Woods
“A Family Jukebox” will perform at Tara Woods on Saturday, Jan. 21. at 7 p.m.
“This is a 50s-60s rock ‘n roll revue,” said writer, producer and director Frank Fazioli.
He is a Pine Lakes resident.
“It is a nostalgic look at good old high school days, set in a 1950s diner that patrons revisit and relive their past. Songs are by Bill Haley and the Comets – “Shake Rattle and Roll”; The Diamonds “The Stroll”, Connie Francis “Where the Boys Are” and “The Twist” by Chubby Checker.
The group that is known as A Family Affair has performed throughout the Southwest Florida area.
“We did nine shows last year at Cultural Park Theater,” said Fazioli.
Tara Woods has been offering quality entertainment showcases for many years, mainly by the work of their Light & Sound Committee. Key organizers of that group include Chuck Poveromo, Frank Millette, LLoyd Kelsey and Polly Brown.
“We’ve been doing this for about ten years,” said Kelsey. “We really enjoy doing this.”
It a trip down memory lane,” Frank Millette said of the show.
Many locals have commented after seeing the group.
“At the end of a show, when they came out into the lobby, several people said, ‘I remember all of the songs and, most of the words,'” said performer Johnny Klotz.
There is cabaret and theater seating, said Brown. She will also be involved in an upcoming production.
“We also have an annual play coming up, March 9 and 10 ‘And then There Was Nun,'” said Brown.
In that play, retired movie stars go on a retreat to a convent, and get killed off one by one.
Tickets for the upcoming A Family Jukebox event are a $12, with regular and BYOB Cabaret Seating.
Reservations required for cabaret, but not for theater seating.
