Shooting in Lehigh Acres
On January 22, 2012, at 9:32 PM, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call to 818 Crystal Avenue S, Lehigh Acres, in reference to a shooting.
Upon arrival, Deputies found a white male later identified as Eric Courtrade, DOB 01/06/1983 lying in his driveway, bleeding from his abdominal area. The victim stated that while he was in his garage he was approached by two unknown persons, wearing all black clothing, with ski masks. After a brief struggle, he heard a gun shot and fell to the ground.
Both suspects fled westbound on Lamar Street West.
The victim was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital due to his injuries.
A perimeter was established and Aviation, along with K-9, responded to assist in the search. All efforts yielded negative results.
Due to the nature of the incident, Detectives with Lee County Sheriffs Major Crimes Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
