Representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities across the nation will be on hand from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 15th as Island Coast High School hosts College Night. During the event representatives will share information about admissions, academic programs offered, financial aid and scholarships, campus life, and more.

Island Coast High is located at 2125 De Navarra Parkway, Cape Coral.

So far the list of schools that have confirmed attending are: The University of Florida; Florida State University; University of Central Florida; University of South Florida; Florida Gulf Coast University; Edison State College; Nova Southeastern University; Ave Maria University; Webber International University; St. Leo University; Hodges University; Georgia Southern; Ohio State; University of Iowa; Penn State; University of South Carolina; Michigan State; Baker College; Johnson & Wales; Brigham Young; and the United States Military Academies (Army, Navy and Air Force).

“This is a great opportunity for students,” said Dr. Peter Bohatch, principal, Island Coast High School. “School staff providing students information is one thing, but when [students] hear directly from the colleges and universities, it really brings it to another level.”

All Lee County high school students and parents are invited to attend the event designed to help aid the students in selecting their post-secondary institution. The event is part of the Island Coast High comprehensive journey to their AVID Program (Advancement via Individual Determination) which is an initiative designed to focus students on closing the achievement gap by preparing ALL students for college readiness and success in a global society.
