Lochmoor Golf Course sold to California-based developer
Once appraised at more than $90 million, the former North Fort Myers Lochmoor Golf Course, now known as Paradise Preserve, was bought Friday by a California-based developer for $3-million.
Brandenburg Properties is the buyer, according to officials in Lee County, who also said the original foreclosure was one of the largest in Lee County history.
Area residents’ reactions are extremely positive, as the property has become abandoned for many years, and is in extremely poor condition.
Renamed Paradise Preserve in 2005, plans then included high-rise condos, restaurants, and a new golf course. The housing crash came down and those plans never came to fruition.
As of Monday, there were no details of what exactly when and what the developer will do with the property.
According to the buyer’s website, Brandenburg Properties is headquartered in San Jose, California and has developed properties throughout the United States.
Their information also notes they specializes in master-planned residential, resort and golf properties, as well as commercial developments.
