Updated: Arrest made; Homicide investigation under way in North Fort Myers

Update:

An arrest has been made in a fatal shooting at a North Fort Myers motel.

Quayshun Addnus Donte Lewis, 23, of 3512 South St., Fort Myers is in custody in the death of Lindsey Joe Hollins, 33, also known as “Wheelchair Joe,” who was found dead in a room in the Days Inn on Cleveland Avenue late Monday afternoon.

Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force took Lewis into custody at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at 3713 Canal Street in Fort Myers, officials said in an updated release.

“Lewis uses the street name ‘Goonie’ and is on the Lee County Violent Offender List with multiple arrests in Lee County,” the Lee County Sheriff’s Office release states.

At the time the release was issued, Lewis was being transported to the Lee County Jail where officials said he will be charged with second degree murder.

A homicide investigation is under way in North Fort Myers after a body was found in a room at a Days Inn on Cleveland Avenue.

The decedent has been identified as Lindsey Joe Hollins, 33.

The investigation began Monday at approximately 4:54 p.m. after Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a call at the motel at 13351 N. Cleveland Ave.

Due to the nature of the incident, detectives with the Major Crimes Unit responded and assumed the investigation, which is continuing.

No other information has been released.
