Nonprofit to offers North Fort Myers residents complimentary laundry services during Easter weekend
Current Initiatives is set to return to North Fort Myers, making it easier for hundreds of residents to have clean clothes this weekend. The Laundry Project event, held at locations across the country, provides lower-income families with the funds and items necessary to wash clothes and linens.
The local Easter weekend initiative will take place at the North Fort Myers LaundroMart at 216 Pondella Road this Saturday, March 26, from 10 a.m. 1 p.m.
Current Initiatives is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in Florida that started with young adults committed to educating others on current social initiatives and mobilizing them to bring about change. Current establishes community groups for awareness and education and organizes local initiatives such as the Laundry Project, Hope For Homes Project and Affordable Christmas.

Founded in 2008, the Laundry Project has assisted lower-income families in more than 20 cities across the country by providing the detergent, softener and quarters necessary to wash clothes and linens. To date, the organization has washed 44,561 loads of laundry for 4,921 families during its nearly 200 projects nationwide.
