Shell Factory Halloween Bash Saturday

What more can a parent ask for more than a fun, safe place for their kids to go on the scariest day of the year.
The Shell Factory & Nature Park will give costumed kids a place to go in the daytime with its annual Halloween Bash on Saturday as the final event of its “Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun Month.”
This event has grown from a few hundred people when it started a few years ago to nearly 1,000 last year.
“It should be a lot of fun. It has always been very successful and this year we will follow all the safety guidelines of COVID for the children,” said Anne Sheridan, general manager at the Shell Factory. “People want their kids to still be able to have fun during these holidays and there’s so much to do here, they can spend the entire day.”
Kids will get to trick or treat in the nature park from 10 a.m. to noon, with the costume contest coming at 12:30 p.m. and 2-for-1 admission after 1 p.m.
Kids who come in costume will get a free snow cone and a round of mini golf. There will also be food and drink at the Southern Grill for purchase, live entertainment for the kids, 20 percent off all items in the Halloween Shop, and special packages at Scallywags Fun Park.
Sheridan said such an event is very important, since it is expected that fewer people are going to go trick or treating at night this year.
“Parents want their kids to enjoy the day, so we’re going to make this as much fun for the kids, and I really believe they’re going to enjoy it,” Sheridan said. “We don’t want the parents to worry. We’re going to have many people there to make sure we can do the best we can.”
The Shell Factory is at 16554 N. Cleveland Ave. (U.S. 41).
