School District finalizes graduation schedules
The lease agreements for four facilities were approved last Tuesday night, setting the stage for 2021 graduation ceremonies, which will take place in person this June.
As discussed as the School Board of Lee County meeting, the schedule is as follows:
Luminary Hotel, Saturday, June 5
• 10 a.m. Lee Virtual School
• 2:30 p.m. Adult and Career Education
Alico Arena at Florida Gulf Coast University, Saturday, June 5
• 10 a.m. Ida Baker High School
• 2:30 p.m. Island Coast High School
• 7 p.m. East Lee County High School
Suncoast Arena at Florida SouthWestern State College, Saturday, June 5
• 10 a.m. Bonita High School
• 2:30 p.m. Estero High School
• 7 p.m. Cape Coral High School
Hertz Arena, Saturday, June 5
• 10 a.m. Fort Myers High School
• 2:30 p.m. Riverdale High School
• 7 p.m. North Fort Myers High School

The facility rentals have an estimated cost of $122,555.85, which is budgeted from the general fund.
At a March meeting Superintendent Dr. Greg Adkins told the board that there will be two tickets per graduate because of social distancing requirements. He also said graduation ceremonies will be live streamed providing family members the ability to view the graduations.
