The North Fort Myers Community Park will give residents an opportunity to make some cash at the annual yard sale returns this week.

The North Fort Myers Community Yard Sale will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the North Fort Myers Park, 2000 North Recreation Park Way.

The sale will take place in front of the football fields, across from the playground.

Ryan Vance, event organizer, said this is the first time since 2019 that this event, which has been successful in the past, has been held. COVID wiped out the last two events.

“It was on the schedule to be done in 2020 and 2021, bit COVID didn’t allow us to do it. We’re going to do it this year, though,” Vance said. “We’re going to have 53 spots available and so far, we have a little more than half of them filled.”

Those interested should clean out their closets, garages and homes to turn unneeded items into another’s treasure. Take advantage of the crowds that a community yard sale can generate or just stop by and shop.

Clothes, collectibles, DVDs, CDs, toys, appliances and much more will be on sale for pennies on the dollars from what you would spend at department stores.

“There are no real restrictions on what you can sell. I don’t believe we would be allowed to sell firearms, but just regular yard sale staff,” Vance said.

Vendor spots, which are the size of a parking space, are available for $10 until Friday at 5 p.m. Setup starts at 6:15 a.m. and vendors are required to bring their own tables and chairs.

“People are invited to come in. We’re just supplying the spots, so we ask that they come prepared. If they need to bring a table or canopy or an extra space to park the car and sell from there, they can do so in their confined space,” Vance said. “Anything else they need to have to bring with them.”
