Lee County Senior Expo set for Jan. 14.
The third-annual Lee County Senior Expo was set for Oct. 15, at the Lee Civic Center. Since the facility was temporarily re-purposed as a staging area for vehicles needed for the cleanup effort following Hurricane Ian, the event was postponed.
On Saturday, Jan. 14, Earp Enterprises will give the event a second shot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This free event, which includes free parking, promises everything seniors need under one roof. Learn about Medicare and health insurance options, estate planning, chiropractic care, retirement living choices, new medical facilities in our community.
So far, more than 90 vendors have agreed to take part, including most of the major insurance companies, Millennium Health Care, Florida Blue, Property Appraiser Matt Caldwell and many more.
“Anybody who has a passion for our seniors or a product or service related to seniors is who will be there,” said Melissa Drake, business development director for Earp Enterprises, a marketing company for the insurance industry, adding there are a few vendor slots still available.
Health screenings will be available with other attendance incentives to include live entertainment with the Hot Flashz, food, giveaways and more.
Drake said her company saw a need for such an event when the company that held an expo for a few years discontinued the event there. Earp picked it up in 2019 and theevent has grown every year it’s been held, Drake said.
She expects a big response.
The next Lee County Senior Expo will be held at its regular time in October, meaning there will be two such events in 2023.
“We’re trying to make it a great show for seniors. We offer various options for the community regarding health insurance. That’s a big part of the show,” Drake said.
