Man found guilty of molesting girl in North Fort Myers

Charles Nelson Barber Jr. was found guilty of molesting a girl in North Fort Myers in 2022.
According the the state attorney’s office, Barber Jr. picked up a girl who was walking along a North Fort Myers roadway and drove her to his friend’s house where he sexually battered her. Barber Jr. then took her to a convenience store. While he was outside, the victim entered the store and asked a woman for help. That good Samaritan took her to safety, called 911 and Lee County Sheriff deputies arrested Barber Jr.
Barber Jr. was found guilty of one count of lewd or lascivious battery and one count of lewd or lascivious molestation. His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 21.
Assistant State Attorney Michael Curley and Assistant State Attorney Adam Sullivan prosecuted the case.
