Next month’s roster of activities at North Fort Myers Public Library offers topics for all ages. The following activities are free to the public:
Adult Programs
English Café
10:30 a.m. Thursdays, Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28
Free, informal conversation sessions for adult ESOL/ESL students.
9/11 Anniversary Digital Learning Experience
1 – 5 p.m. Monday, September 11
Join us for a 30-minute program that tells the story of the 9/11 attacks through first-person accounts from first responders and survivors. The film will run continuously throughout the afternoon.
DIY Craft Club: Autumn Shadowbox
2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14
Welcome the fall season with this adorable autumn themed shadow box. Create a 3D layered shadow box and watch your work come together into a beautiful piece of art at this craft program just for adults. All materials will be provided and registration is required.
Books & Bites
2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21
Join us for an hour of books, fun and conversation. Everyone is welcome to stop by to discuss their favorite books. Get recommendations on everything from recent releases to forgotten classics. Refreshments will be provided.
Children’s Programs
Family Storytime
11 a.m. Wednesdays, Sept. 6, 13, 20, 27
For children through age 5 and caregivers. Families with young children enjoy a variety of stories, songs, rhymes and movement.
Baby Rhyme Time
11 a.m. Thursdays, Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28
For babies up to 18 months. Babies and caregivers wiggle and giggle in a supportive environment. Space is limited. Arrive early and visit the children’s desk to check in. First-come, first-served.
Kids Read Down Fines
2 – 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9
Children and teens can earn a $2 credit on overdue fines for every 15 minutes they read in the designated area for a total of $8 in one session. Please bring your library card.
Read to the Dogs
2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9
Join us at the library to read to dogs. The dogs are registered therapy animals who volunteer with their owner/handlers as a team to help improve the literacy skills of children. You can read down fines or just encourage a love of reading in your children with reading to dogs.
Family Craft Saturday
11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16
Children and their families are invited to join us for a morning of crafting. All supplies will be provided, just bring your creativity. No registration required.
Teen Programs

Teen Movie
5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19
Teens are invited to join us for an evening movie. Bring a friend and snacks. This movie will be rated PG-13. For teens ages 13-17. No registration required.
