Babcock Ranch to get second Publix; will anchor for MidTown Marketplace
Babcock Ranch will soon get a second Public supermarket.
The new location will serve as the anchor within the new MidTown expansion at Babcock Ranch with construction on the project to start early next year.
Publix opened its first Babcock Ranch location in 2021 at Crescent B Commons, a shopping center that has become the community’s central hub.
“Publix has been an incredible partner in the growth of Babcock Ranch,” said Syd Kitson, chairman and CEO of Kitson & Partners, the developer of Babcock Ranch. “As our town continues to expand, this new Publix store represents the next chapter in meeting the needs of our residents and the greater community. It is another example of how Babcock Ranch is evolving thoughtfully, bringing more choices, more convenience, and more quality retail to our town. Adding a second Publix location is an important milestone in the growth and expansion of Babcock Ranch.”
Publix will bring one of its newest store formats to MidTown Marketplace in Babcock Ranch. At approximately 55,000 square feet, this location will “showcase a modern layout with expanded offerings and amenities tailored to meet the needs of today’s customer,” a release announcing the expansion states.
“Guests will enjoy a variety of specialty features, including enhanced prepared foods such as fresh pizza, ramen, sushi, and acai bowls; a full-service seafood department, a scratch bakery with artisan breads and custom cakes; and an expanded deli and artisan cheese selection,” the release states. “The store will also offer a larger wine, beer, and specialty department, a ‘Pours’ beverage bar with smoothies, coffee, wine, and beer, plus café-style seating. Additional conveniences include a dedicated pharmacy and health-and-wellness section.”
A separate, adjacent Publix Liquors with its own entrance is also planned.
Construction on MidTown Marketplace and the new Publix store will begin in early 2026, with openings planned to be announced soon.
Upon completion, MidTown Marketplace will expand Babcock Ranch’s retail and dining offerings, providing new amenities that reflect the town’s continued momentum, officials said.
“MidTown is the next phase of Babcock Ranch’s long-term vision, designed to expand the town’s sustainable lifestyle with new neighborhoods, parks, dining, and retail,” the release states. “Located off Cypress Parkway, it will blend residential and commercial spaces that connect seamlessly with existing neighborhoods, creating more places to live, work, and gather within walking or biking distance. Encompassing approximately 140,000 square feet of retail and dining space, MidTown Marketplace will serve as the commercial centerpiece of this next chapter in Babcock Ranch’s growth.”
