Equality Florida to host press conference launching statewide Parenting With Pride program

ORLANDO, FL — For years, Gov. Ron DeSantis and right wing, astroturf organizations like Moms For Liberty have waged war on freedom and turned Florida’s classrooms into political battlegrounds. They have sought to amass power by banning books, censoring curriculum, whitewashing history, replacing education with propaganda, and bullying Florida’s families into submission. Fed up, parents and allies across the state are organizing and fighting back.
Parenting with Pride, a new program launched by Equality Florida, is bringing together organizations that serve the needs of Florida’s parents and families, to fight back against the rising tide of right wing extremism. With more than 1,000 families already plugged into the network, before the official launch, there is support and excitement around parents being able to ensure their rights and families are also respected. To mark the launch of Parenting with Pride, Equality Florida and partners will host a press conference on Aug. 15 at 11 a.m.
