Burch named as Cape mayor

Cape Coral city council members voted Jim Burch to be the new mayor, replacing outgoing Mayor Eric Feichthaler.

Burch edged out fellow Councilmember Bill Deile in a 4-3 runoff vote.

Burch’s appointment creates an opening in his District 1 seat. The council must now fill that spot with someone from that district.
