Sobriety checkpoint results in five DUI arrests

A sobriety checkpoint on Fort Myers Beach resulted in five DUI arrests.
Five hundred and fifteen cars passed through the checkpoint, which was conducted from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday at 17651 San Carlos Boulevard.
In addition, three people were arrested for no valid drivers license, one for driving while license suspended and three for possession of a controlled substance. Thirty-eight traffic citations were issued.
