Search warrant leads to two arrests in Cape

Two men were arrested on drugs charges Thursday after police executed a search warrant at a home in southwest Cape Coral, according to officials.
At 5:30 p.m., detectives with the Cape Coral Police Department’s Vice, Intelligence and Narcotics Unit conducted the search at a home at 3007 S.E. Fifth Place. Detectives reported finding 42 grams of marijuana, a plastic bag containing cocaine and a loaded handgun inside the residence.
Police also found several paraphernalia items, including cut straws, digital scales, a glass pipe and a grinder with marijuana reside, officials reported.
Steven D. Gaines, 53, of 3007 S.E. Fifth Ave., is charged with one count of possession of cocaine and three counts of possession and or use of narcotic equipment. Juan Martin Falcon Jr., 33, of 914 S.W. 31st St., is charged with one count of possession of marijuana over 20 grams and three counts of possession and or use of narcotic equipment.
Gaines remained in the Lee County Jail on $4,500 bond Friday afternoon, according to jail booking records. Falcon had been released on $4,500 bond.
Falcon was unavailable for comment Friday afternoon.
Both have court dates set for June 21, according to the booking records.
The VIN Unit was assisted in the execution of the search warrant by the department’s SWAT Team, K-9 Unit and Street Crimes Unit, officials said.
