Man reports guns, other things stolen from residence
Two firearms, along with jewelry and other items, were stolen from a Cape Coral home while the victim was attending a funeral, according to a report.
The victim told police that he left for the weekend to attend a funeral of a relative. When he returned home Monday night, he discovered that the back door of his home, located in the 800 block of Northeast Seventh Place, was open and several items were missing, a report from the Cape police states.
The victim reported that a .40-caliber Glock and a Browning 30-06 rifle with a gold trigger had been stolen, along with two 14-karat gold rope chains, a 3-karat marquis diamond ring and a stainless steel Rolex. A PlayStation 2 was reported missing as well as 12 PlayStation 2 games and 22 DVDs.
According to the report, two other firearms in plain view were not taken.
The stolen items are valued at $14,170, the report states.
