Rescheduled poker run set for Sunday
Motorcycle riders are invited strap on their helmets Sunday for a good cause. The sixth annual Deputy Pat Healey Fallen Heroes Poker Run will take riders on a 50-mile trek through beautiful Southwest Florida. The proceeds will be donated to the Fallen Heroes Memorial Fund. The Poker Run was originally set for this past April, but had to be rescheduled due to rain.
“This is a great opportunity for members of law enforcement to ride in concert with the community at large for an extremely worthwhile cause,” says sheriff’s Lt. Augie Malagon, an organizer of the annual event. “When a tragedy does occur involving one of our law enforcement brothers or sisters, these funds are there to assist the families.”
Registration begins at 9:30 am Sunday at the Harley-Davidson of Fort Myers dealership at 2160 Colonial Boulevard. There is a $10 entry fee per bike or vehicle with a $5 charge for passengers. Bikes will leave the dealership as soon as they are registered, with the last bike out by 11 a.m. The event includes raffles, a silent auction and custom bike displays.
The charity event usually draws around 200 to 300 bikes a year.

The Poker Run was originally set for this past April, but had to be rescheduled due to rain.
