Lunch for customers, dogs, to benefit refuge center
Florida Gulf Bank is inviting the community, and their pets, to a complimentary lunch next month in an effort to raise food donations for the Animal Refuge Center in North Fort Myers.
The Florida Gulf Bank Branch on Veterans Parkway near Sandoval is hosting a “Dog Gone Good Time” on Friday, July 16.
Spokeswoman Marie Mosely said the idea for the event was sparked when bank employees noticed a large number of customers brought their dogs along while they did their banking.
“The bank was finding that a lot of their clients were bringing their pets with them. It really grew out of that, and they just wanted to make it a good time for everybody,” Mosely said.
Florida Gulf Bank staff members will “dog sit” while guests enjoy their lunch, between 11:30 am – 2:30 pm. Special treats will also be served to pets.
“Customers can have a good time, while staff helps the customers to be able to have lunch comfortably,” Mosely added.
The Lee Memorial Health System’s Bloodmobile will also be on site from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. for donations.
Though Florida Gulf Bank has hosted the “Dog Gone Good Time” at other branch locations, this is the first time the Bloodmobile has been on hand, according to Mosely.
The event is free and open to the public.
