CRA, Breeze Newspapers, cull industry awards
The Community Redevelopment Agency and Breeze Newspapers took home three awards from the Florida Festivals and Events Association’s annual convention and trade show on Friday.
Winning awards in the $25,000 and under advertising budget category, CRA Public Relations Manager Helen Ramey said it was an honor to be recognized by the FFEA.
The FFEA promotes such popular statewide events as the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, and the Gasparilla Pirate Fest in Tampa.
“I feel very honored to be ranked with such high caliber events that are held statewide,” Ramey said. “The CRA is trying to bring awareness to the South Cape, make it a place where people can live, work and play.”
The CRA and Breeze Newspapers won first place awards in two categories and first runner up in one category.
First place awards were given in the Miscellaneous Printed Materials category for a newspaper wrap that was given to guests in CRa hotels, and for special insert in the June 19th edition of the Cape Coral Breeze that focused on “South Cape Summer in the City”.
The First Runner Up award was given to a special section in the Nov. 21 edition of the Cape Coral Breeze that focused on Shopping, Dining, and Events in South Cape for the holidays.
Ramey said attending the convention and trade show was crucial to sharing information and ideas with others in the festival and event planning industry.
She said the convention provides a “wealth of information” and marketing tools, and that being honored is a good achievement.
“I’m very proud to be acknowledged at the state level,” she said. “Its quite an honor.”
The FFEA’s convention and trade show draws together municipalities, counties, tourism agencies, redevelopment agencies and private attractions and organizations from around the state.
The CRA has also won awards in previous years from the FFEA for its marketing efforts.
