Cape Chorale again offering singing Valentines

2 min read

A singing Valentine featuring a Cape Chorale Quartet is being offered for those who wish to give their loved ones a special gift this year.
Howard Wright, who has been a member of the Cape Chorale for eight years, said the group has been offering the singing Valentines Day present for the last 10 or 11 years.
“It’s a wonderful experience because there are six different quartets that do that,” he explained about the singing Valentines.
The expression on people’s faces is why he truly enjoys giving the annual gift to individuals.
“It is really a surprise and it is something that they probably won’t forget,” Wright said.
He explained that the singing Valentines can be performed at a business, bank or for someone at home. The barbershop quartet will perform two love songs in tuxedos for someone who is receiving the Valentine, along with providing them with a rose, candy and a card, for $45.
Call (239) 772-3866 to book a singing Valentine for Feb. 12, 13 or 14.
Wright said they performed about 100 singing Valentines last year.
The group gives a portion of the proceeds from the singing Valentines to the Lee Memorial Health System speech therapy project, along with the chorale’s annual show that is held in March.
“So far, we have given over $25,000 through singing Valentines and our annual show,” he said.
Numerous quartets are formed from the 50 male voices in the Cape Chorale.
