Police release video of armored car robbery suspect

The Cape Coral Police Department has released video of a suspect in the robbery of an armored truck in Cape Coral on Sunday.
The incident occurred at 4:32 p.m. as a Brinks transport truck was in the process of picking up money at the Publix at 127 Cape Coral Pkwy.W.
As a Brinks employee was exiting the Publix store and walking towards the armored vehicle, a white male approached the employee from behind and used a stun gun to shock the employee in the neck.
The employee, who was temporarily stunned, dropped the coin and cash bags. The single male suspect grabbed the canvas Brinks bag containing an undisclosed amount of cash and checks and ran from the scene.
It is believed that a black SUV was waiting for the suspect on the north side of the Publix store where the man was last seen running.
Cape Coral police are asking for assistance in identifying a man caught on surveillance video.
