‘All Way’ stop sign to be installed at Kismet and Nelson on May 17
The City will be installing an “all way stop” at the intersection of Kismet Parkway and Nelson Boulevard on Tuesday, May 17. Variable message boards and warning signs have been placed at the intersection in advance to advise drivers of the upcoming change.
An “all way stop” previously was installed at Kismet Parkway at Chiquita Boulevard, which resulted in a review of the Kismet/Nelson intersection. An engineering study concluded that the “all way stop” also is warranted at Kismet and Nelson, and meets the standards and guidelines in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
The messages and warning signs will remain in place at least one week following the installation of the stop signs to alert drivers of the “Stop Ahead.”
