Fort Myers man faces drug charge

1 min read

Cape Coral police narcotics detectives arrested a Fort Myers man Wednesday night after police say he sold Oxycodone to a police informant.
On June 1 at 9:20 p.m., a confidential informant, under the direction of the Cape Coral Police Narcotics Unit, made arrangements to purchase 40 Oxycodone pills for $560 from a white male known as Mark Brantley at the 7-Eleven convenience store at 2604 Skyline Boulevard, officials said.
Upon completion of the transaction, the Cape Coral Police Street Crimes Unit took Brantley into custody without incident. Brantley, 51, of 1813 Collier Ave., was charged with trafficking an opium derivative.
He has an extensive criminal history dating back to 1985, police spokesperson Lt. Tony Sizemore said in a prepared statement released Thursday morning.
“Our Narcotics Detectives continue to investigate the sale of prescription drugs, from the street level dealers up to the suppliers. The arrest of street dealers is important because of the ‘quality of life’ concerns. As you can see, this drug deal took place in a convenience store parking lot in someone’s neighborhood. This could be your neighborhood; and it is why these investigations are important.” Sizemore said.
