Free concert a new addition to July 4th celebrations
The community is invited to attend “A Tribute to America in Honor of Our Veterans,” a free concert on the Fourth of July at 10 a.m. at the Eco Park Pavilion at Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve.
Ralph Santillo, president of the Invest in America’s Veterans Foundation, said the concert is being held through partnerships with the Cultural Park Theatre, the city of Cape Coral and the Veterans Foundation.
The Cultural Park Theatre Players will honor veterans with patriotic songs Monday morning.
“We are honoring every veteran from every war era,” he said. “It is a tribute to all the soldiers.”
The patriotic songs will include tunes from the Revolutionary War to the Civil War.
Santillo said there also will be some great World War II songs.
“I would like everyone to come, especially veterans, so we can honor them a little bit, too,” he said.
A nice flag pin will also be handed out on Monday until supplies run out, he said. Bottle water also will be provided.
He said since they do not know how much seating they will need, everyone is encouraged to bring their own chairs, just in case there are not enough.
Santillo said he hopes everyone will come out and enjoy themselves while celebrating the Fourth.
