2 min read

The Garden Club of Cape Coral invites the public to see how the designers meet the challenge and interpret through flowers the six classes in the Design Division-Rolling in the Rushes, Rafting on the River, Picnicking under the Palms, Crossing the Caloosahatchee, Walking Nature’s Trail and Celebrating the Season.

A juried Standard Flower Show, “Over The River, Thru The Palms,” will be presented by the Garden Club of Cape Coral and The Potpourri Designers today, Friday, May 2, from 3-5 p.m. and Saturday, May 3 from 9-3 p.m. at the Cape Coral Library, 921 S.W. 39th Terrace.

This year the show is much larger and includes more categories of design, as well as a unique new opportunity to create an underwater design in Crossing the Caloosahatchee and a petite design in Rolling in the Rushes. The show will be judged by a panel of National Garden Club, Inc accredited/approved judges according to the NGC Standard System.

Come peruse the submissions in the Horticulture Division that includes everything from cut specimens from the garden or landscaping to potted plants. Gardening in Southwest Florida is a challenge at best and the wide variety of submissions will provide you with a visual guide to what can be planted here and survive under Tropical South conditions. There will be Master Gardeners available for questions.

All are welcome to this delightful display of talent and a peak into the mysteries of successful Florida gardening. For additional information, please contact Vicki Taylor at 239-573-7435 or Terry Pinck at 239-368-5615
