New principal takes over at Cape Coral Charter School

Cape Coral Charter School has hired a new principal with deep roots in the Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) family and strong ties to Lee County. Bonnie Brett has more than 20 years of experience in education. She most recently served as the principal at PM Wells Charter Academy in Osceola County where she led the school from a “C” grade in 2013 to an “A” grade in 2014. Her background also includes serving as assistant principal at Bonita Springs Charter School and Six Mile Charter Academy where she helped develop blended classrooms and virtual learning. She has also served as dean of student discipline and as a physical education teacher.

Brett earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education and her master’s degree in educational leadership from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va.

“Ms. Brett has consistently been a leader in our schools,” said Billie Miller, senior director of education at CSUSA. “Her outstanding abilities to manage students at all grade levels and communicate with parents will bring a fresh perspective to Cape Coral Charter School and will bring them to the next level of success.”
