Council to hear Bimini Basin feasibility study presentation
Cape Coral City Council has a clear agenda for its regular Monday meeting in Council Chambers at City Hall in order to hear a presentation by the University of South Florida on a feasibility study for the Bimini Basin project.
Professor Taryn Sabia will lay out how such a study is done and provide examples of other studies and the resulting impacts on the community. Sabia’s field of expertise is with the Florida Center for Community Design & Research School of Architecture & Community Design.
Sabia’s proposal indicates the city has an opportunity to create a shared vision that will promote and connect development along the Bimini Basin and adjoining waterfront.
The presentation is informational only and will not delve into specific details or plans for the basin at this time.
Her study proposal asks for a fee of $51,150 which, if accepted, council will then vote on a resolution authorizing the expenditure.
City auditor Margaret Krym will present council with its required annual strategic Plan and Audit Plan for Fiscal Year 2015.
Council members are also expected to share the details of their recent committee meetings at the Florida League of Cities.
