Suspect sought in multiple bird shooting case
Lee County Domestic Animal Services is seeking information in a case involving birds shot in the head with a blow gun near a Cape Coral discount store.
The incident was reported to Animal Services on Oct. 3 and happened near the WalMart at 1619 Del Prado Blvd.
Arriving Animal Services’ officers found one deceased Muscovy duck in a nearby pond with a red-tipped dart still in its head. Officers also saw a second duck running loose with a green-tipped dart in its head. Officers were able to capture the duck the next day and removed the dart. The duck appeared to be fine and was released, officials said.
They also found a dead ibis with a dart in its head at the same location.
