Catch The Vision: Progress program set for Nov. 18
With the recent rise in Cape Coral real estate values and interest in new construction increasing, the fourth annual Catch The Vision Cape Coral event is anticipating greater attendance than ever before.
“With us showing progress and the market changes we encourage the public to come see what’s happening,” said Gloria Tate of Raso Realty. “Cape Coral is alive and coming back and there are many reasons to invest in the community.”
Organized by the Cape Coral Association of Realtors, Catch the Vision kicks off at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18, with the trade show showcase at Cape Christian Fellowship Park, 2110 Chiquita Blvd. An assortment of local vendors will be featuring their businesses and registering guests for product giveaways at tables set up throughout the park.
At about 6:30 the first of 13 presentations will begin. These presentations are specific to projects currently under way or set to begin soon. Three of the project presentations are “top secret surprises” that will be revealed for the first time to the general public.
Presenters will share information and facts about the local market condition, new construction, foreign investors and commercial data.
“It’s just a good opportunity for people to see what’s been going on over the last year,” said city Economic Development director Dana Brunett, one of the presenters. “In the past year we’ve had a lot more development activity than two or three years ago. When I came here I had to beg companies to talk to me, now they are calling me. There are projects some people know about and some they don’t know about, which is nice. There’s a lot of new construction going on.”
Tickets to attend the event are $10 and are available in advance online or over the phone. Tickets include a sandwich, chips and a drink. A portion of the ticket proceeds will be donated to the Cape Coral Caring Center for Thanksgiving dinners to help Cape Coral families. Additionally, canned goods and non-perishable food items will be collected at the event to also help the center’s programs.
“Last year we collected about $2,000 for Thanksgiving turkeys for the center,” said Tate.
This year’s “flyover presentation by Brian Harmon Images focuses on the excitement along the Pine Island Road corridor pointing out various points of interest and projects.
The presented projects are expected to bring good-paying jobs to Cape Coral for a brighter future, create tourism opportunities and add value to local business owners as well as help diversify the city’s tax base.
