Stephenson named superintendent for Cape Coral Charter Schools
The city of Cape Coral’s Charter School Governing Board has selected Nelson Stephenson as the new superintendent. Stephenson replaces Dr. Angela Pruitt, who left in August to become the Human Resources Director with the Lee County School District. Stephenson started his new role on December 15.
Stephenson has an extensive educational background. He earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Master’s in Public Administration from Western Carolina Univer-sity. He has held administrative posts in Collier and Lee counties, and spent time working as a college professor.
“I am very excited to be selected as the superintendent for the City of Cape Coral Charter School System and look forward to this new challenge,” said Stephenson. “I have been impressed with our talented teachers and support staff as well as the community-wide commitment toward making our charter schools a success.”
