Corkscrew Road and I-75 Ramp Improvements

Estero, FL: As part of the Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organizations Complete Streets Initiative, sidewalks are being replaced and bike lanes are being added along Corkscrew Road between Corkscrew Woodlands Boulevard and Stoneybrook Golf Boulevard. No lane closures are expected from December 31, 2015 through January 3, 2016. From January 4th to January 6th motorists can expect intermittent daytime lane closures on Corkscrew Road weekdays during off peak hours between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Partial ramp closures will also take place at the I-75 Corkscrew Road Interchange Monday – Wednesday between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Access to I-75 from Corkscrew Road will be maintained. Estero Boulevard

Town of Ft Myers Beach reFRESH Estero Boulevard/Waterlines Times Square to Lovers Lane:

Contractors for Fort Myers Beach and Lee County are installing new water main, gas main and sanitary sewer force main on Estero Boulevard from Times Square to Gulfview Colony. Two travel lanes will remain open the majority of the time, however, intermittent lane closures may be necessary. Crews do NOT work on weekends or holidays.

Lani Kai to Gulfview Colony:

Motorists should expect two travel lanes to remain open the majority of the time; however, intermittent lane closures may be necessary.

reFRESH Waterlines crews will prepare water connections and test the new main from Lani Kai to Red Coconut RV Park.

reFRESH Waterlines crews will stripe portions of Estero Blvd. nighttime Monday, Jan. 4.

Crescent Street to Lani Kai:

Motorists should expect northbound and southbound travel lanes shifted to the beach side of Estero Boulevard from Crescent Street south to Lani Kai (Avenue C).

reFRESH Estero Boulevard crews will install sanitary sewer force main on the bay side of Estero Boulevard.

San Carlos Park Sidewalk Construction

New sidewalks are being installed in San Carlos Park on Lee Road from Sanibel Boulevard to Alico Road, and Sanibel Boulevard from Iris Road to Lee Road. No lane closures are expected from December 24, 2015 through January 3, 2016. From January 4th January 6th motorists can expect intermittent daytime lane closures. Road Maintenance This Week

Striping Maintenance: Lee County DOT will be performing a moving operation with traffic delays on 12-31-15 through 1-6-16 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting) on:

Gunnery Road

Sunshine Boulevard

Alabama Road

Coconut Road

Intersection Work: Intermittent lane closures and delays are possible on 12-31-15 through 1-6-16 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting) on the following roadways:

Pondella Road

Sunshine Boulevard

Coconut Road

Raised Pavement Marker (RPM) Maintenance: Lee County DOT will be performing a moving operation with traffic delays on 12-31-15 through 1-6-16 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting) on:

North River Road

Coconut Road

1. Road Work/Maintenance/Improvements:

Alico Road: Ajax Paving Industries will widen Alico Road from 200 feet west of Airport Haul Road to 1,000 feet east of Innovation Way in Fort Myers.

Motorists should use caution in this area as there will be intermittent daily lane closures and/or delays between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, weather permitting.

Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 30th and should take approximately 45 days to complete (including the holiday shut-down from December 24th to January 3rd, 2016.)

Burnt Store Road from Diplomat Parkway to Van Buren Parkway – Construction Project: This project consists of the initial widening of Burnt Store Road to four lanes (ultimately the future design is for six lanes with a two-lane frontage road). The project also includes installation of conduits under the road for the City of Cape Coral.

NW 12th Terrace at the intersection of Burnt Store Road: This intersection will close as part of the roadway design for Lee County Department of Transportation’s Burnt Store Road Widening Project. This road closure will remain in effect for the duration of the project. Motorists should access NW 31st Place via NW 9TH Terrace. Local area residents will have access at all times during construction.

NW 14th Terrace at the intersection of Burnt Store Road: This intersection will CLOSE PERMANENTLY as part of the roadway design for Lee County Department of Transportation’s Burnt Store Road Widening Project. Motorists should access NW 14th Terrace via NW 16th Street or NW 17th Lane to NW 31st Place. Local area residents will have access at all times during construction.

This north segment from Diplomat Parkway to Van Buren Parkway costs $15.3 million and the City of Cape Coral’s utility conduits are $550,000. The contractor is Quality Enterprises, USA, Inc. County Road 78 (River Road) at Cemetery Road in Alva: On Monday January 4, 2016, a roadway resurfacing project will be taking place on County Road 78 @ Cemetery Road in Alva. Motorists should use caution as there will be intermittent lane closures and/or delays. This will be a daytime project that will be completed in 5-6 hours. Daniels Parkway Extension Phase 2 Fiber Project: Construction crews will begin installation of fiber conduits on Monday, December 14th, 1.4 miles east of Gateway Boulevard working towards and ending at SR 82 and Gunnery Road. Men and equipment will be working near the outside travel lane and motorists are advised to be alert and use caution traveling through the construction area. There are no planned lane closures during this project. The anticipated completion date is February 26th, 2016. For questions relating to this project, contact Mike Say at 239-533-9514.

Gateway Roadway Rehabilitation

Contractor is doing grading and sodding adjacent to the newly constructed pathway on Gateway Boulevard. Additional crews will be replacing curb ramps and portions of concrete sidewalk on Gateway Boulevard, Westlinks and Commonwealth Drives. Please respect “Sidewalk Closed” signs and use alternative facilities where directed. Expect intermittent lane closures during daytime work hours. I-75 Bridge #120084 over Caloosahatchee River North of State Road 80

A contractor will be making repairs to the I-75 bridge substructure over the Caloosahatchee River during the night hours (9 p.m. to 5 a.m.) on Tuesday, January 5th, 2016 with lane closures. Overnight lane closures on Alva and Big Carlos Drawbridges for ICA/ State DOT Bridge inspection:

Alva Drawbridge 120042, lane closure will be January 12th; starts at 9:00pm till 3:00am (overnight)

Big Carlos Drawbridge 120028, lane closure will be January 13th; starts at 9:00pm till 3:00am (overnight)

US 41 Transmission Mains

Lee County Utilities south of Old Gladiolus Drive to north of Cypress Lake Drive:

Contractors for Lee County Utilities are installing new water mains on the west side of US 41 from south of Old Gladiolus Drive to north of Cypress Lake Drive. Some driveways are temporarily closed but businesses and residences will have access throughout the project.
