Miloff named Realtors association’s Humanitarian of the Year
The first-ever president of the newly merged Cape Coral-Fort Myers association for Realtors was recently named Humanitarian of the Year for his work within the community.
Cape Realtor Jeff Miloff, a partner with the Miloff Aubuchon Realty Group and Aubuchon Team of Companies, was honored on Jan. 9 as the 2015 Humanitarian of the Year by the Cape Coral Association of Realtors. The presentation occurred at a ceremony at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa.
“I’ve served with him on the board of directors for many years,” Paula Hellenbrand, the association’s then-president, said. “He is always the roll-up-your-sleeves kind of guy who gets the job done.”
The recipient of the yearly award is selected by the association head.
“All of our members are eligible, and there’s always a good handful of people involved in our association and the community,” she said, adding that the award goes to someone involved in both.
Miloff, who was honored with the same distinction in 2010, spoke on the recent recognition.
“It was awesome,” he said. “I was surprised to get it again.”
A past president of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Florida, who has been involved with Make-A-Wish Southern Florida and Builders Care – the charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association, Miloff credits his upbringing for his community-mindedness.
“I was brought up that you give back to the community,” he said.
Recently, he helped organize a fundraiser for the family of a member who passed away.
“Me and my partner are always working on how to give back,” Miloff said.
Hellenbrand explained that when the Cape association was merging with the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Myers and the Beach, Miloff got involved in the task force and played a pivotal role.
“He was extremely helpful,” she said.
Once the merger was complete, the members voted to ask Miloff to serve as president of the newly combined association. Hellenbrand said he was a little shocked but gracefully accepted position.
“The most outstanding factor for me was his agreement to step up and serve as president,” she said.
Miloff called the new position a big responsibility that will take time and work.
“I thought it would be best for our members and best for our area to be a part of it,” he said.
Hellenbrand agreed.
“He’s really the best fit to bring the two organizations together,” she said.
“He’s a leader, who always contributes and gets involved,” Hellenbrand added.
With over 25 years of experience, Miloff is an association past president and was awarded Broker of the Year in 2015. He also received the President’s Award from the Ronald McDonald House Charities.
“My motto is, ‘Work hard, play hard and give back hard,'” he said.
“When those things come together, life is good,” Miloff added. “It’s just something I believe in.”
