Public hearings top City Council agenda on Monday

1 min read

A light agenda, at least in the number of public hearings and resolutions, awaits Cape Coral City Council members on Monday night.

Two public hearings will decide a request to vacate a public utility easement on one property and amend the city’s Comprehensive Plan’s element for conservation and coastal management and other elements.

Applicants have expressed an interest in constructing a single-family house on property located on Southwest 25th Street at Southwest 28th Place. The reason is to increase the flexibility in the use of the property by seeking easement and right-of-way vacations.

Staff recommends approval as the right-of-way area is small and does not serve any public purpose. Utility providers submitted letters of “no objection” on the request.

Council is expected to approve a resolution accepting a multijurisdictional document regarding the city’s participation in the National Flood Insurance Program and its rate maps.

Monday’s meeting will commence at 4:30 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall on Cultural Park Boulevard.
