Everything you ever wanted to know about hibiscus
The James E. Hendry Chapter of the American Hibiscus Society will hold its monthly meeting on Sunday, Feb. 14, from 1:30 p.m. 4 p.m. at the Salvation Army Building, 10291 McGregor Blvd., Fort Myers.
Kathy Grandoff from the Tampa area will speak on “Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Hibiscus But Were Afraid To Ask”. She has over 20 years experience in hibiscus and knows it all. She will answer all your questions as well as talk on making your own cuttings, grafting, fertilizing correctly, proper pruning, showing your blooms at shows, correct soils to successfully grow hibiscus and MORE! You don’t want to miss this opportunity.
Other expert hibiscus members will be available during the meeting plus free hibiscus raffles and refreshments. Many exotic hybrid plants have blooms over 8 inches and are in just about every color of the rainbow! Besides red and yellow, they can be blue, green, brown and many blooms with up to five colors!! You will not believe your eyes. The comment heard most is “Wow, are these real?”
Members of this hibiscus chapter will be available for any questions. Admission and parking are free. This is a good opportunity for Southwest Floridians to get firsthand information from an expert.
The society meets at The Salvation Army Building, 102901 McGregor Blvd on the second Sunday of each month at 1:30 p.m. Anyone interested is cordially invited to attend the next meeting Sunday, March 13, at 2:30 p.m. where they will hold their first ever “Gardening Garage Sale” including Hibiscus plants.
