Hybrid districting amendment proposal vote expected Thursday

The Lee County Charter Review Commission will meet to review proposed amendments to the Lee County Charter on Thursday, March 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lee County Administration Building, 1st Floor Conference Room, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers. The Charter Review Commission will conduct its final vote on the following proposed amendments to the County Charter:

Hybrid districting – 5 single member and 2 at large

Reducing the number of affirmative votes for the Charter Review Commission to place a charter amendment directly on the ballot

The Lee County Charter Review Commission comprises 15 members appointed by Lee County Commissioners. They serve for 18 months with the purpose of reviewing the Home Rule Charter and proposing any amendments or revisions, which may be placed on the general election ballot.
