Scheduled shutdown of water main on Country Club will interrupt service to 350 customers

2 min read

A scheduled shutdown of the potable water main on Country Club Boulevard on Wednesday, March 9, will interrupt water service for about 350 customers in the area. Service will be unavailable beginning at 9 a.m. City crews are replacing two damaged main line valves, and two additional valves are being replaced by a contractor for a capital improvement project. Work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m.

The area impacted is on Country Club Boulevard from Veterans Parkway to Wildwood Parkway. This includes streets east of Country Club to SE 10th Avenue (see attached map). The right lane on southbound Country Club will be closed at various locations throughout the day. Drivers should use caution when traveling through the construction area.

Once water service has been reestablished, customers can expect some initial discoloration of the water. A precautionary boil water notice will be in effect for the area until Lee County Health Department completes testing of water samples, which could take a few days. The notice recommends customers bring water to a rolling boil for one minute before use or consumption. Customers also can fill containers with water for their daily use prior to Wednesday’s shutdown.

The City will advise the media when the precautionary boil water notice has been rescinded. Customers also can get more information and updates on the boil water information page and map on the City’s website: www.capecoral.net. Under “I Want to,” and “Find,” select “Boil Water Notice.”
