Tax Collector’s Concealed Weapons Intake System deemed a success

1 min read

The Lee County Tax Collector’s Concealed Weapons Intake System service passed a milestone recently when the office served its 5,000th customer.

The local service offered in partnership with the Department Of Agriculture and Consumer Services opened for business April 1, 2015, and continues to offer a convenient outlet for a rapidly growing demand, officials said.

“We’ve seen an increase in people over the year. Customers no longer need to drive to Charlotte County or mail in their application. We have a one stop-shop right here in town,” said Tax Collector Larry Hart in a prepared statement.

The initial online application is completed by the applicant, the Tax Collector provides a photo and fingerprints. Services are available at the Tax Collector main office only, at 2480 Thompson Street, Fort Myers. Appointments can be scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for both initial applications and renewals by calling 239.533.6073.
