Driver license and motor vehicle services to be unavailable during migration of database infrastructure June 16-18
The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is scheduled to migrate its current enterprise database infrastructure into a cloud solution. During the migration, all driver license and motor vehicle services will be unavailable to customers and stakeholders throughout the weekend of June 16-18.
State services will become unavailable starting at 7 p.m., Friday, June 16, and are scheduled to be restored by 8 a.m., Monday, June 19. The database migration will impact all driver license and motor vehicle offices statewide as well as most online services. Impacted services include: driver license and ID card issuance and renewals, driver license testing, address updates, vehicle titling and registrations, vehicle information checks, commercial driver license services, vessel titling and registrations, parking permits, electronic lien services and other department services.
Customers who need any of the services listed are urged to plan in advance for the database migration. Service offices of the Lee County Tax Collector may be affected Monday, June 19. All law enforcement related systems will remain operational throughout the weekend.
The DHSMV is committed to leveraging technology to enhance customer service and improve data security. This migration is a critical update to the department’s enterprise database infrastructure to reduce system outages and allow for improved disaster recovery.
