Officials urge caution driving on wet, flooded roads
Two days of rain have soaked Southwest Florida and flooded many roadways. Officials in Cape Coral and across Lee County have urged that drivers use caution on local roadways and streets. Early Saturday, the city closed the intersection of Kismet Parkway and Chiquita Boulevard because the roadway was completely covered with water. Other streets have also been flooded in sections.
With weather forecasters calling for more rain through the first of the week, many streets may continue to flood.
