1 min read

Lee County Emergency Management is preparing to open additional shelters at 10 a.m. Saturday:

Ray V. Pottorf Elementary, 4600 Challenger Blvd., Fort Myers

Germain Arena, 11000 Everglades Parkway, Estero

Residents who plan to evacuate should make their preparations tonight to move to quickly Saturday morning.

The Estero Recreation Center has reached its capacity as a shelter.

Speaking earlier today at a news conference, Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott addressed the latest mandatory evacuations from Zone A. He also noted the county’s role in opening shelters for those needing to evacuate.

“It doesn’t mean you need to gather all your belongings and get on the road,” said Sheriff Scott. “There are shelters available.”
