The 45-member Southwest Florida Concert Band will perform A Journey into Space Concert on Sunday, Feb. 26, at 2 p.m. at South Fort Myers High School, 14020 Plantation Road, Fort Myers.

The band will take flight with A Journey into Space Concert with feature vocalist Bob Helfrich singing Moon River and Come Fly with Me.

The band will perform music from Star Trek, Guardians of the Galaxy and present Holst’s Mars from his Planets Suite.

Just for fun, the band has added a Klezmer Karnival, a patriotic march and a little music to remember Valentine’s Day. The Brass Monkeys quintet will play a fun number to clap your hands to. The show will close with a dramatic and impressive arrangement of Star Wars composed by John Williams.

All concerts are free with donations accepted. Information on the group, scholarship program, and other performances can be found HERE.
