Nicholas Parkway East overnight closures begin May 10
Beginning at 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, all lanes of traffic will be closed overnight on Nicholas Parkway East between Santa Barbara Boulevard and Cultural Park and Academy boulevards. Roads will reopen by 5 a.m. each morning and close again at 8 p.m. until milling and paving on the roadway and side street intersections are completed.
Through traffic should follow the detour signs as follows:
• Through traffic will be detoured north on Santa Barbara Boulevard and Cultural Park Boulevard to SE 8th Street. Motorists should follow the detour signs.
• Nicholas Parkway East local residential traffic will be accommodated.
Drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians should use caution while traveling through the area. Residents may need to access their property from a different direction. Residents and businesses should expect lights and noise from trucks and OSHA-mandated back-up beepers.
